Sweet and spicy with a hint of an edge from the bourbon. These are very dangerous. Makes one cocktail.
- ¼ C. granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- ⅛ tsp. ground cloves
- 1 oz bourbon or whiskey
- 1 oz Pear Sage Syrup (see below)
- 1 oz pear liqueur
Pear Sage Syrup
- 2 pears, quartered, seeds removed
- 1 C granulated sugar
- 1 C water
- ½ cup fresh sage leaves
- Heat the sugar and water together in a medium saucepan over medium high heat, until the sugar is dissolved. Add pears and sage, let simmer 2-3 more minutes. Turn off heat. Let the pear and sage steep for 1-3 hours. Strain into a jar or bottle, keep refrigerated.
Combing sugar, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in a small bowl. Rim a Nick & Nora glasses with lemon, then dip the rims into the mixture. Set aside.
Combine bourbon, pear sage syrup, and pear liqueur into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake for 30 seconds. Pour into rimmed Nick & Nora glass.
