Maple Latte with Real Maple Syrup (Hot or Iced)

Ingredients
  

For the Maple Latte

  • 2 shots espresso or 3 oz strong, freshly brewed coffee
  • 1 C milk whatever your preference is, it can definitely be plant-based.
  • 2-4 tablespoon maple syrup the amount depends on your preferred sweetness level!

For the Cinnamon Whipped Cream

  • 1 C heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions
 

For the Maple Latte

  • Brew 2 shots of espresso. If you don't have an espresso machine, brew a strong pot of coffee and use three oz of coffee instead.
  • Heat 1 cup of milk. Use a milk steamer if you have one. If not, heat the milk in a saucepan over medium-high heat until steaming and frothy.
  • Add the maple syrup and the espresso to a coffee mug, and stir.
  • Add the steamed milk, and stir.
  • Top with cinnamon whipped cream (see below) if desired. Enjoy!

For the Cinnamon Whipped Cream

  • In a bowl, combine heavy cream, maple syrup, powdered sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  • Using a stand mixer or beaters, whip until stiff peaks form.
  • Dollop onto your maple latte. Enjoy!

Notes

The nutritional info here is off base - it's assuming you're using all the whipped cream for one drink. 
To make the iced version of this latte:
Ingredients:
  • 2 shots of espresso
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2-4 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • Ice cubes
Instructions:
  1. Brew 2 shots of espresso and let them cool to room temperature.
  2. In a separate container, combine the milk and maple syrup. Mix well.
  3. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the cooled espresso over the ice cubes.
  5. Slowly pour the maple-milk mixture over the espresso.
  6. Stir gently to combine.
  7. Optional: Top with homemade cinnamon whipped cream for extra indulgence.
