Cucumber Mint Gimlets

Fresh, beautiful, and perfect for a hot afternoon on the patio, these gimlets are a refreshing twist on the classic.

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • C cucumber cubed
  • ¼ C mint leaves
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 4 oz gin
  • 1 oz lemon or lime juice
  • fresh cucumber for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Combine the cucumber, mint and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker or mixer (preferably shaker). Muddle until the cucumber becomes soft.
  • Add 1 cup of ice to the shaker. Add the gin and lemon juice. Shake (or stir) vigorously for 30-45 seconds. Double strain into a coupe glass.
  • Garnish with fresh cucumber.

Notes

You can shake or stir this recipe, but generally, if a cocktail recipe includes citrus, it's shaken. I used a mixer in the video so you could see the whole process and what was going in the drink!
